Been a while since I posted any more photos about the Landed Gentry Tour in December and January. So here are a couple of pictures.
The above was taken in Karachi's Ghulâm-e-Iqbâl neighbourhood, a middle-middle class sort of place (modulo the abject poverty you just ignore), about the size of the average Canadian city, probably. I have no idea whether the schools there are any good, or what the Centrel Grammar School is actually teaching, or what that truck is even supposed to do for them. Some kind of school bus?
Of course, the schools are much better in Karachi's rich and trendy Clifton seaside neighbourhood (again as large as a city in itself).
But this shopping bag comes from a popular women's shoe store in downtown Clifton. I wish they had a store for men's causal shoes there.
I showed these pictures to my Pakistani relatives, and they were all, "What? Are you trying to embarass us here?" But I am mystified, because most Pakistanis who speak English also know how to spell.
