That is a way of putting it that is new to me. I shall have to ponder. The problem of succession in time (an illusion?) is definitely an important part of the puzzle.


Your problem is in mistaking a facile mind for a complex mind. Dennett and his crew are not especially deep or rigorous thinkers.
